Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment
The primary program at Renaissance Recovery Center is the pillar and foundation of our work. This 90-day intensive outpatient treatment involves highly engaging group sessions, each lasting 1 to 2 hours per night; these take place four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm as well as once during Tuesday evening between 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
We recommend it for those who are deep in their fight against substance abuse where they could benefit by consistently sharing stories with peers while learning how others have been able to break free themselves.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), sometimes referred to as Day Treatment, is a higher level of care than Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) and are an important stage in the treatment and recovery continuum. Many clients use PHP as a step down following Inpatient or Residential treatment. With this program, clients return to their homes each night.
The aftercare program is our other main program at Renaissance Recovery Center. While it is definitely very helpful, it is far less of a time commitment than our primary program. This particular section of our services takes place over 90 days, and only happens one night per week, in a 3-hour group therapy session. This program is recommended to those who have completed our primary program, and who will benefit from the routine of seeing the people who are devoted to their recovery every week.
Benefits of Outpatient Drug Treatment
Many people who enter drug rehab do not need inpatient treatment. For those clients, Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) for addiction recovery is usually the best option. IOP rehab programs typically involve a few hours per day for a few days per week in a treatment center environment. The behavioral development, personal skills, and self-insights people gain, and the group support system they develop in outpatient treatment can help them enjoy lifelong recovery.
Who Can Benefit From Outpatient Drug Treatment?
The skills, confidence, strength, commitment, and sense of self-reliance gained through effective outpatient drug treatment can prepare a person to thrive in their life after rehab. An outpatient treatment center is a good option for people with particular needs, for example:
- A person worried about leaving his/her life behind for months of therapy
- People who need addiction treatment but don’t need inpatient rehab
- Someone discharged from inpatient or PHP who needs more than weekly group therapy
- Newly addicted people who are seeking treatment early
- People who want a highly effective, cost-efficient rehab treatment alternative
Primary Benefits of Outpatient Drug Treatment
There are some important benefits in electing outpatient rehab treatment. These are some of the significant short- and long-term advantages of choosing IOP therapy:
IOP is the place to develop relapse prevention skills, methods for coping with cravings, stressors, and triggers. It’s also the place to continue working on specific key issues for long-term wellbeing, and it’s the part of rehab for developing a strong life-long psychological and emotional support system.
Being in an outpatient program enables people in treatment to continue working at their jobs, attending school, and meeting their other daily responsibilities. They live at home and come to the rehab facility several times each week for therapy sessions. This means they can maintain their ties to their community, which is a critical component of successful long-term recovery for many people after addiction treatment.
Lower Treatment Cost
Outpatient drug rehab costs much less than inpatient treatment because people do not need to live at the rehab facility. Naturally, not having to pay for room and board and round-the-clock staff means the treatment program is much more affordable. Getting into an effective outpatient program can help alleviate some financial concerns and free clients to relax and make the most of their treatment experience.
Can Live at Home During Rehab
In outpatient addiction treatment, it can be very beneficial on multiple levels to continue living at home instead of moving into a rehab facility for weeks or months for inpatient care. People in IOP treatment can avoid having to reacclimate to life outside the rehab facility after treatment is completed. It also allows them to practice the life skills learned in behavioral therapy in real-time during treatment, vs. waiting until after inpatient rehab is over before starting to apply what’s learned.
